GiliSoft File Lock Pro is a privacy protection tool for Windows. Using different encryption methods, it is able to protect your personal data and prevent other users from getting access to files that you'd rather keep private. It can be used to lock all kinds of files, including folders and local/USB drives. The protected files and directories will be stored in the program's main window and only those who know the password will have access to them.

When you launch the installer, you will be prompted to create the main password, and optionally add an email address that could be useful in case you need to retrieve your key. Every time you attempt to open or modify a file protected with this app, you will be asked to enter the password.

The application uses different data protection methods. For one thing, it can completely hide files/folders or drives so that no one can see them, that is, using this method the selected files will no longer be visible in your computer. On the other hand, the application can deny reading/writing permissions to any file you choose, which means your files will be visible to all users, however no one will be able to actually open or modify them, unless they know the password. The app can also encrypt files and folders into executables files protected with a password.

The program uses a simple and intuitive interface that is easy to work with. All the files you hide or encrypt will appear in the main window under the corresponding tab, and from there you can easily unlock them or make them visible again. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the hide/lock/encryption functions can be used from the context menu.

If you want to see how the program works, there is a free trial available to download, which offers the main program features for you to evaluate.
